Gentle Yoga

I am starting a new gentle yoga class on Friday mornings at 9:00 am in the Longparish Hall. It will be starting on the 19th of June 2026.

My background in yoga dates to 2006 when I went to India to study Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam for two years. This dance of fire has a lot of yoga movements incorporated into the dance. In the same year I studied an introduction to yoga in New Delhi. Moving forward to 2015 I continued studying several types of yoga, obtaining a teacher training certificate in 2017. 200YTT (200 hours Strala Yoga Teacher training) in London, followed by a 300YTT (300 hours Strala Yoga Teacher training) in New York. in 2018.

My style of teaching gentle yoga incorporates movements from traditional kundalini yoga style, which focuses on spinal movements whilst sitting on the ground. I also incorporate some strala yoga style which is a gentle type of yoga based on vinyasa yoga with slow and gentle movement. My goal is to increase our range of movement and flexibility with some stretches in a gentle paced way.

We will be developing a better awareness of our bodies in space and a greater sense of relaxation in a gentle flow of yoga suitable for all.
